I’m upgrading my blog to wordpress 2.2 for a number of reasons:

• I needed to update my theme anyhow since I’m back from my internship and it’s time to move on
• The FAlbum plugin was broken and needed to be updated
• I wasn’t happy about the plug-n-play google maps system, so I’ll look look for an alternative
• And of course wordpress 2.2 is a major release

For those that are unaware of what RSS is, let alone how to use it, I’ve added a link in the sidebar to subscribe to updates to my blog by email using FeedBurner. This means that you will get an email when I post an entry on this blog with the entry contents and a link to the blog.

For those that do know what RSS is, but didn’t notice the links at the bottom of the page yet, here is the entry feed link. If you are looking for an RSS reader, I can personally recommend Google Reader which I have put on my Google Homepage (no, I am not sponsored by Google ;)) Of course, you can also use FireFox’s Live Bookmark feature or Thunderbird’s builtin support or whatever you like.

Although I appreciated the simplicity of my previous theme, it did get a bit boring after a while. So I started playing around with some of my pictures and made a header image. Then I looked around for a suitable theme and customized it to include my header and to get the Google Map etc. working.

I will still add recent/random pictures somewhere and improve things a bit further in the coming weeks.

Well, not really, but I’m getting there; the list is getting shorter

The blog is finally working like it should (as far as I know at least) and I’ve just finished uploading the last of my foto’s to my new online foto album at Flickr. (which is hooked up to this site)

Only 46 hours to go untill I’m on the plane!

One of my previous favorite themes, White as Milk, appears to be working perfectly with FAlbum and PnP Google Map now. One of my fixes/attempts must have ironed out the problems I previously had using this theme with FAlbum.

After some more struggling with stylesheets to get things to look the way I want them to, everything is nicely integrated now so I can start focussing on content again.
