Getting a cold in Xi’an

11 January, 2007 (19:07) | Internship | By: Peter Paul

You know how, when you’re packing your stuff, you always get that sinking feeling like you’re forgetting something? Well, last Sunday, as I was packing for my flight back to Xi’an, I did actually forget something. No, I did not leave anything behind in Shanghai (well at least not unintentionally), I did however forget to take my pocket knife out of my hand luggage and put it into my suitcase :$

Party weekend

4 January, 2007 (21:03) | Internship | By: Peter Paul

Last weekend I went out dancing two nights in a row after a long time of absence from any club. First up was my first experience of Drum ‘n Bass in China with the famous DJ Makoto and MC Deeizm in the awesome BonBon club. Second, on new year’s eve, we went to the hippest place to be in Shanghai right now: the Attica club; right at the Bund and really expensive, but hey.. it was new year’s eve :)

Weekend to HangZhou

4 January, 2007 (20:35) | Internship | By: Peter Paul

On the weekend just before Christmas I went to HangZhou which is one of the most popular places to visit for Shanghainese in the weekend and I can see why. Yuyuan garden and Qibao

In the weekend of 16 and 17 December I visited Yuyuan garden and bazaar and Qibao reconstructed historical part of town. Both are sights in Shanghai, easily reachable by taxi.

The Yuyuan garden was quite beautiful despite the time of year thanks to it’s heavy use of decorative stones and evergreen. It almost felt like a garden in Suzhou, but this was in the middle of Shanghai! I’m definitely going to show this to my mother when she visits Shanghai at the end of the month.

How to stay up-to-date

4 January, 2007 (19:20) | Blog | By: Peter Paul

For those that are unaware of what RSS is, let alone how to use it, I’ve added a link in the sidebar to subscribe to updates to my blog by email using FeedBurner. This means that you will get an email when I post an entry on this blog with the entry contents and a link to the blog.

For those that do know what RSS is, but didn’t notice the links at the bottom of the page yet, here is the entry feed link. If you are looking for an RSS reader, I can personally recommend Google Reader which I have put on my Google Homepage (no, I am not sponsored by Google ;)) Of course, you can also use FireFox’s Live Bookmark feature or Thunderbird’s builtin support or whatever you like.
